Sadness you call to me again,
An old friend phoning home.
While it hurts my throat,
I still choke on hello
To greet you,
Desperate
To feel something
Saying “empathy”
In your luring tone,
In the way you say,
“I miss you.”

Fits my blog message today perfectly! We are on the same wave length! I love your use of “empathy” here and the use of “luring.” Good word choices!

Just wondering if a narc inspired this…

I enjoy hearing readers thoughts 😊 The inspiration came from feeling familiar feelings of sadness that has been felt before. When we feel alone it is easy to want to feel the familiar, trying to find a connection with anyone or anything. Even though it is obvious where these feelings will take us, sometimes it’s still so tempting to allow it to swallow us.

Thank you for sharing this poem. Your portrayal of the absence of familiarity, is quite profound. 😃
