I grew up thinking
Freedom meant free,
But now I am older
And thatās not what I see.
I see people who think they know best,
Telling us all what to do
And so much more, never nothing less.
So I cover my ears,
Block conservative spears
Thrown from old, privileged folks
Too good for calm tokes.
But⦠Iām young so Iāll wait,
In the world the old made,
Planting trees that you killed,
Cleaning oceans you filled,
Building up women you beat down,
Taking back rights.
Iāll fight for love (the freedom to choose)
May it always win
Controlling others is the only sin.

I hate that boomers call us millennials lazy, when we’re trying to clean up the mess they made of the world.

You and me, too… Fight for love … and the freedom to choose. Yes! Your poem is very thought provoking. Good job! ā¤

This is very deep. We often pay for the mistakes (sins) of others. But change can take place any time. It’s just a matter of keeping the faith and trying even harder. Wonderfully written!
